October 16 Fire Truck Visit

The kids were so excited to get to see a firetruck and meet real fire fighters. They showed the students all of the gear that they wear that does make them look a little scary-- but the children learned not to be scared of them. They all got to give him a high five to help them be comfortable with him all "geared" up. They also learned about the tools they use and what to do in the event of a fire. Do you have your fire safety plan at home?

October 13 Homecoming Picnic

Meeting our buddies and getting to hang out with them to decorate pumpkins, jump in the bouncy houses, do a hay rack ride, paint faces, watch a magic show, win a cookie at the cookie walk, and cheer at the pep rally made for such a memorable day!

We all were exhausted after all the fun!!

October 10- More Letter Fun

Playing Trouble- for letter /T/. Playing board games is such a great way for children to learn a multitude of concepts including turn taking, number recognition, one to one correspondence, counting, visual perceptual skills, fine motor skills, and so much more!!
It is amazing how quickly everyone is learning how to print the letters of the alphabet. So far we are focusing on the "straight line" letters Each week the students try to remember which letters we have learned and print them from memory. I am so impressed with how many of them are able to form the letters correctly and legibly!!

October 5 Letter E fun!

Conducting "experiments" for letter /E/ week. The students layered colored sand and explored color mixing.

September 22, Making Applesauce

Everyone had so much fine peeling, coring, and slicing apples for our "applesauce". It was quite a work out too:) They really had to use their muscles to be able to crank the handle. The applesauce was delicious!!
